What is Eduroam?
Eduroam (Education Roaming) is a secure, global wireless access network for the academic and research community. It allows students, faculty and researchers from participating institutions to access high-speed Internet and online resources while traveling to other participating institutions around the world. Eduroam allows users to connect securely and easily to the Internet anywhere there is a participating institution.
Eduroam-cr is part of the global mobility space operated by European academic networks and TERENA (Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association) which cover Europe through eduroam Europe, and extend to eduroam Canada, eduroam US, and eduroam APAN (Asia and Pacific).
What is Zli Wifi?
Zli Wifi is a free wireless internet zone program developed by Consorcio RACSA, ICE and PC as an initiative of SUTEL through the Fondo Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (FONATEL).
This project aims to bring free wireless Internet to several areas of the country.
Participants
Universities and Institutions members of the Costa Rican Academic Network that show their interest in eduroam and are developing local RADIUS server configuration activities, contributing to deploy the eduroam mobility space at a national level: Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR) Universidad Nacional (UNA) Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) CONSEJO NACIONAL DE RECTORES (CONARE) and its Programs.
