It allows students, faculty and researchers from participating institutions to access high-speed Internet and online resources while traveling to other participating institutions around the world. Eduroam allows users to connect securely and easily to the Internet anywhere there is a participating institution.<\/p><p>Eduroam-cr is part of the global mobility space operated by European academic networks and TERENA (Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association) which cover Europe through eduroam Europe, and extend to eduroam Canada, eduroam US, and eduroam APAN (Asia and At a minimum, eduroam provides basic network connectivity for web browsing (HTTP, secure web (HTTPS). There is no guarantee that \"eduroam\" will provide the same access to resources as at your institution.\n<h4>IS THE EDUROAM NETWORK SECURE?<\/h4>\neduroam wireless networks implement WPA \/ TKIP encryption with 802.1x authentication. Some institutions may offer additional methods such as WPA2\/AES or mixed mode operation (WPA and WPA2). This ensures that your connection to the wireless network is secure, however, you should still continue to use protocols that provide end-to-end encryption such as HTTPS and SSH.\n<h4>WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS TO USE THE EDUROAM SERVICE?<\/h4>\nConnecting to an \"eduroam\" network requires a WPA compatible wireless adapter and an 802.1x supplicant.
